What a great weekend! Megan came home for Easter so Arlon and I cooked for her.
Friday night we had Roasted Potatoes and Chicken (a recipe from a former Pastor’s wife) plus steamed broccoli and chocolate chip cake pound cake (a recipe from a great friend) but I have changed it to our taste so it has become my recipe now. I will include most of these recipes in this blog.
Saturday Morning – Arlon cooked a Andouille Omelet which was delicious. We served it with fresh fruit and Blackberry Muffins. Saturday Night we had Rice & Cabbage Casserole done in my rice cooker, Caesar Salad, Stewed Okra & Tomatoes and Garlic Cheese Biscuits.
Sunday Morning we had Overnight Pecan Praline French Toast Casserole (recipe from my daughter in law), served with Bacon. Sunday Easter Lunch we had Cajun Fried Turkey by Arlon, Andouille Cornbread Dressing, Broccoli & Rice Casserole (recipe by my Mom and my Great Aunt), Macaroni & Cheese, Garlic Cheese Biscuits, Strawberry Jello Salad and Strawberry Shortcake.
Needless to say, Megan went home with leftovers and Arlon and I still are eating leftovers.
As you can see Arlon & I both love cooking and entertaining.
We try to make family and friends feel at home by adding flowers to their room, making sure the accommodations are suitable, clean sheets, plenty of covers and pillows, lights in the right places, reading material available, bottled water in their room and just little touches to let them know you are glad they are in your home.
It is not necessary to do all these things but do add something that will let them know you are glad they came.
